Really Pissed Me Off!

Well, lately in Singapore, there have been quite a number of newspaper reports about bus fares going up. I mean, is it really necessary in the first place? The bus company kept increasing the bus fares every other couple of months but yet the service and speed doesn't seem to reflect the necessity of the bus fares increasing. In fact, it doesn't justify anything at all. With the increase of bus fares going up from a few cents to 20¢, the least the bus company could do is to make sure the buses not only come on time but also enough buses to cope with the passengers during peak periods too. But instead, the bus is taking longer and longer to arrive at the bus stop and during peak periods, the bus look more like a can of sardine than an actual bus. Even more appalling is the fact that when I was in secondary 3 (15 years old) and I was working part-time at McDonald's at Takashimaya Shopping Centre (Singapore). On Sundays after I finished my part-time job at around 6 or 7pm, my bus would be packed full of people and they are not Singaporeans. Apparently, all Blangadeshi workers in Singapore tend to hang out at chic urban areas like Orchard Road just to ogle at Singaporean women and when it's time for dinner, they will squueze onto the bus like nobody's business. So, all the Singaporeans will have to wait and wait for the next bus for nearly 30 minutes to an hour and it's really pathetic. Seriously, I do not have any problems with Blangadeshi workers packing into the buses and stuffs like that. But what really pissed me off is the fact that when the Blangadeshi workers get onto the bus, they will also bring creepy crawlies onto the bus as well, like cockroaches, bugs, lizards. God knows where they have been doing all day, but the last thing I want to see after a hard day's work is to get home a.s.a.p without having to see anymore creepy crawlies on the bus. Really, fugly dirty and smelly is what I always remembered about Sunday mid-afternoons!!
