Sloppy Attire from teenagers

When this person walked past me on the bus, I though it was an ah pek (old man) who was going towards Orchard. But when I looked up, it was a teenager with this transparent canvas shoe from Converse. The best part? He was going to Orchard Road, the place to be seen and I was somewhat aghast!!

I mean, back during my school days, people would emphasize on attire when stepping out of the house. Nowadays, teenagers are just too lazy to dress up a little. And I don't mean wearing a proper shirt with ties, long smart-looking pants and covered shoes. At least wear a suitable length bottom, not just your "I just got out of bed" attire/look. Seriously, give yourself a little respect by dressing up a little. And to think that teenagers have more spending power than I used to have. Sigh... Guess I'll also dress something like this when hitting Orchard Road for window-shopping, huh?

Although I might not look like a movie star, but at least I try to put it a little effort in my clothes when I'm going out. How you wear clothes, dress yourself and carry yourself can say so much about you..

  1. I now what you mean, it's shocking how teens nowadays seem like they don't care how they look out in public.. and they call this "self-expression"? Oh puhleease! look in the mirror from time to time!

  2. Dear Ane Fallarme,

like what you've just said, they called it self-expression. But to the rest of us, it's called laziness. And seriously, even a person who has humble backgrounds and can't afford to buy new clothes all year round has more dignity than that, don't you agree?
