My blog highlight for today is about Indonesian cultures at http://www.iqnaul.blogspot.com/. I am really delighted to talk about this blog, partly because Indonesia is so close to Singapore (where my home country is) and I definitely love ethnic culture, other than Chinese culture. Indonesian culture is so colorful. As a start, cultures in Indonesia has been shaped by long interaction between original indigenous customs and multiple foreign influences. Indonesia is central along ancient trading routes between the Far East and the Middle East, resulting in many cultural practices being strongly influenced by a multitude of religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Islam, all strong in the major trading cities. The result is a complex cultural mixture very different from the original indigenous cultures.

But my most favorite part of cultures in Indonesia would definitely be shadow puppet theatre. Why? Because the shows display several mythological events that happened within the cultures of Indonesia. And I would definitely want a chance to travel to Indonesia in the near future, soak in the wonderful cultures present in Indonesia, watch shadow puppet theater shows, and also not forgetting delicious Indonesian food. Yummy!!
