Changes in my Neighborhood

Previously, there was a fire in this particular neighborhood and almost half the stalls were relocated until renovation works are completed. And along the way, I guess whoever's in charge of the renovations decided that they should add in a new playground as well. It definitely is spacious to me, but the only time I'll hang around here at night would be during Lunar Chinese New Year season, mainly for Lunar CNY shopping and browsing.

And there are new metal benches for everyone too, although you would have to be insane to be sitting on them in broad daylight. It's better in the evening when it's cooler and you can sit, people watch and chit-chat too.

Well, see that old lady in the photo (towards the right, with greyish white hair). This is one total nutcase, and she goes around the neighborhood to cheat unsuspecting people of their meals. And her operandi modus goes like this: When she sees a distressed person complaining about how lousy/cold/stingy/whatever the meal is, she come up and claimed that she worked at that stall. Whoever the dumb one would happily fall for it and claimed that said food is not up to standard, and in which she would gladly "try" to see if the person is telling the truth. After one mouth-ful of food, she'll claim that she bring it back to the stall and exchange it for a new bowl. And that's when the rest of us at the coffeeshop said, "Dumb lor, she cheated one meal for free liao."

Well, mind you all, it's not like she has no family. I'm positively sure she gets free meal at one of my ex-classmates (just classmates, besides she's a pseudo-tomboy-ex-ah lian) and also get to watch TV programmes for free. And I suspect that this classmate of mine could be related to her. 'Nuff said, I'm watching my food from now on, no matter what!
