First, start with dry hair. Spray or apply your curling lotion sparingly to your hair.
After using the curling iron, curl up your hair in curlers. If you're doing this overnight, it'll make sense to get a cloth or towel to wrap around your head so that when you toss and turn in your sleep, the curlers won't fall off.
This is how my hair looks like in the morning after I removed the curlers.
A more detailed look. If you don't want your curls to look too tight, use the sharp end of a comb to divide up the curls so that your hair looks more fuller. (Please ignore the double chin at this point..)

haha, correct my if i'm wrong but i think you're supposed to curl your hair towards your face instead of away from it ^^
