I Hate The Community Library

To be honest, really brutally and sarcastically honest, I hated the Community Library (by National Library Board) at Bukit Panjang Plaza. Why? They don't have the books I want to read. I want books on mythologies, folk lores, grim fairy-tales, occutism, metaphysics and they don't have it. And the only books they have on mythologies are those which is suitable for teenagers. Ended up, I have to buy these books instead and when it comes to buying them, I have to make a very good decision:

1) Is it comprehensive?

2) Does the book give me what I want to know?
3) How affordable is it?

4) If I want a book that's published in the 1990s, will I still be able to order it?

But sometimes, I can still find some gems too, but only "sometimes". Because whenever I go to the library, I always dread the fact that I will be going home empty-handed every time. And as a gentle note and recommendation, it's best to go for the hardcover version instead of the paperback version. Why? Hardcover versions might be more expensive, but in the long run, the cover (and the pages within) won't get dog-earred so easily. As for paperback versions, I know it's cheaper. But if you are going to buy a book for yourself and you know you're going to keep it for a long time with you. Heck, if you're going to keep the book with you forever, the paperback version won't last. You have to get it plastic-jacketed, store it properly and take extra care when handling it. One mis-step, you'll get dog-ears for infinity and beyond...

Anyway, check out these babies I managed to borrow at the library. Lately, I've been on a roll and managed to find some books I like to read, and I hope this luck will stay for quite a while.

Yes, a book that teaches you how to code MySpace layouts. Don't really have time to learn it from the Internet, so a book would be a wiser choice for me.

1 reason why I borrowed this book. Curiosity.

A comic book on high school zombies. Hmm, wonder what the storyline would be though?
