Disey's Atlantis: The Lost Empire A Rip-off from Studio Gainax's Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water?

Well, at first I couldn't belive what I had read until I finished the whole post and realised that there were some similarities to both animation movies. Except that it's a comparison of a japanese 39-episode television series (1990) against a 90-minute movie (2001). Excerpts from the post are as follows:

Disney has long been known for not having a single original idea, but this one really takes the cake. Their new "original" movie, Atlantis, is nothing more than a ripoff of Nadia, a Japanese television series. Michael Hayden has put together this hilarious (and brutally honest) side-by-side comparisson!



Our hero, Jean, a nerdy yet sweet inventor who gets caught up in a quest to find Atlantis. Along the way he falls in love with a girl unlike anyone he's ever met before. Accessories: big round glasses, red bow tie, assorted charts and scientific equipment.

Seriously, whatever happened to th original ideas and movies that tug at our hearts and grew up with us in memories? Disney animated movies like The Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmatians, etc, we worry with the good guys, and cheer when good triumps over evil and suddenly WHAM! Disney's Atlantis became a rip-off from Gainax Nadia's...
