A Whole New World

This night while I was "furiously" hitting away on my laptop (it's 2nd hand and I'm proud of it coz it's free and it isn't 2nd hand anymore when it came to me..) when the CD I was listening to started playing this song 'A Whole New World', performed by Koda Kumi and Peabo Bryson. The reason why this song is included in is because the album is tentatively "Aladdin-styled" inspired, especially this other song 'Candy' featuring Mr. Blistah. Funny how Japanese rap and hip-hop stars come up with these funny alias and still look cool. (Think Takeshi "Beat" Kitano?) As this song was singing away, suddenly I felt tears welling up in my eyes and I kept thinking back to the days when I was in primary school. Everything was so simply back then, there was no such shit about back-stabbing, politics, etc. Just the usual, I hate that teacher', 'I forgot to do my homework', 'Best friends forever' kind of stuffs. Kind of reminiscence, and a little crappy too I suppose. I think i'm feeling mellow for a split second and this is definitely not me!!

Fat-ass lady seats beside me

Today was considered a horrendous day for me. Just one bus stop away from where I was due to alight from the bus, this fat-ass (i shall leave out the race) lady got up the stupid bus, saw the seat (window) beside me and quickly plonked her ass down on the seat without realising that she is some skinny bimbo but a fat-ass one. Oh, please. Before squeezing onto an empty seat, take into consideration the size of your ass first, BITCH!!

Another drowning incident - Debra included!!

A few copies of newspapers later, I came to this other report. Man, was those students really brainless and fucking stupid. This four teenage friends were playing in a nrealy-dry canal on a Sunday afternoon by unluckily, they were all swept away by a sudden flood of water. I mean, how stupid can these 4 fellas be, to the point that a girl was later found drowned and dead?? The ironic thing is that, the 3 who survived knew how to swim but not the drowned girl, and considering the fact that they are students and that swimming is not a compulsory activity in school and neither are there swimming classes that are organised by Singapore schools. Apparently, they were tossing a school bag around when it fell into the dry canal and thus decided to retrieve it. Then it started to rain and the water level that had previously reached their ankles suddenly increased and they were all swept away by a sudden surge of rain-water. Sure, 3 of them were saved and suffered only bruises and cuts. But at what point? The fact that their best friend drowned and is now pronounced dead (with her body found?). Seriously, people go to school to study so as to be more clever. But for these 4 idiots, it's to go to school and be more fucking stupid than ever before. Go on, play in the canal and get swept away by rain-water. When will these idiots ever learned their lesson??

Out From The Iraq-Age

For a while, Iraq was banned from the Games thanks to a disagreement between its national Olympic committee and IOC. But that has since been resolved and Team Iraq is back in. Iraq made its Olympics debut in 1948 and has only one medal so far - a bronze in weightlifting in 1960. The war-torn country is now sending two track-and-field athletes. It's reported that more than 100 athletes have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003.

Massacre @ Virginia Tech

In view of the Virginia Tech massacre that happened recently, I'm sure everyone was shocked and saddened by this senseless killing. So am I. But what I don't really expect to read in the papers is about the fact that people are pushing the blame to the person who sold Cho Seung-Hui the guns. I mean, what kind of a nonsense is this supposed to be? If anyone is to blame, it should have been the government who allowed its citizens to buy arms in the first place. Although it's quite ridiculous that the person who sold Cho Seung-Hui guns didn't stop to think why would a student need arms for? And just a couple of days later, I heard on radio about this professor explaining that it's considered American culture to have guns due to the fact that it's a culture. Could someone explain to me what kind of a culture would allow it's citizens to purchase arms? Even more bewildering is the fact that a teacher noticed Cho's behaviour is somewhat disturbing and had asked him to go for counselling (which I felt was the right thing to do), he refused and she left it at that. Could someone also explain to me why wasn't counselling re-inforced in American schools? Just because Cho refused to go, it doesn't mean "anyone's hands are tied"! Because of the fact that there is something disturbing about Cho, the teacher should have insisted that he go for couselling regardless of whatever excuse Cho has given. If someone had forced Cho to go for counselling, maybe the massacre wouldn't have happened in the first place! For for god's sake, ban the sale of guns in your country, America! Wake up! This isn't the first school shooting/massacre and I am definitely convinced that this won't be the last either!!
